John P. Joiner
John P. Joiner has over 33 years of experience in the private practice of law. He is a 1982 graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1985. Mr. Joiner began his legal career with the firm of Russell, McWhorter & Adamson in Winder, Georgia, in 1985. He began his solo practice with the establishment of The Joiner Law Firm in 1994. In 1984 Mr. Joiner became of counsel with the firm of Johnston & Owen, LLP, in 2018.
During the course of his career Mr. Joiner’s major areas of practice have included real estate and commercial transactions, wills and estate matters, formation and representation of business entities, and real estate litigation, including quiet title actions. During his legal career he has had primary responsibility for more than 6,000 real estate transactions including single family residential property, apartment complexes, subdivision development loans, wetlands mitigation banks, commercial buildings and shopping centers.
A native of Griffin, Georgia, Mr. Joiner is married to Julie Bankston Joiner, a teacher at Rehoboth Road Middle School. They have four children: Jacob, Joshua, Jamie, and Jack. The Joiner family attends the First Baptist Church of Griffin where Mr. Joiner has served as Deacon Chair, Sunday School teacher and various other capacities. He currently serves as a Deacon and as a member of the Board of Directors of the First Baptist Church Foundation. John is also active in coaching youth sports and has served on the boards of several local non-profit organizations including his current service on the boards of the Griffin Ballet Theatre, the Griffin Area Arts Alliance, and Spalding County Resources, Inc., a non-profit company that holds property for use by the Griffin Area Resource Center serving adults with developmental disabilities.
